CITS Card Program

Course Overview

The AIA – CITS Course is Alaska Industrial Academy's complete path to the Cook Inlet Training Standards (CITS) card. Workers complete three core courses – CITS HAZWOPER, H2S Unaccompanied, and Confined Space Entry – to build a baseline foundation in hazard recognition, H2S awareness, emergency response, and safe work practices for Cook Inlet and Alaska industrial sites.

This comprehensive program covers hazardous waste operations, hydrogen sulfide safety, confined space entry procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE), atmospheric testing, permit systems, and emergency response protocols. Training aligns with OSHA, EPA, and regional safety standards while incorporating Alaska-specific scenarios and practices.

Upon successful completion of all three courses, workers are eligible to receive a CITS card issued by Alaska Industrial Academy. This card is recognized by employers throughout the Cook Inlet region and across Alaska as proof of standardized baseline safety training for industrial operations.
